Delaware Raritan Canal

Take a stroll along the Delaware Raritan Canal, a beautiful park trail starting just North of Bull’s Island and ending in New Brunswick. The canal runs over 70 miles long and through five counties, containing a wonderful blend of forests, farmlands and fields. One can experience a plethora of different animals and forestry, with a rare assortment of trees and approximately 90 different species of birds. The trail contains other sights as well, such as the Lumberville Raven-Rock pedestrian bridge, and historical landmarks like the Prallsville Mill and the Prall House, making the trail a well rounded experience for both children and adults alike.

Grounds for Sculpture

Located just outside the borders of nearby Trenton, the Grounds for Sculpture offer a unique artistic experience, boasting 42 acres of more than 270 sculptures by renowned and emerging contemporary artists. A variety of tours are offered throughout the day, providing guests with the opportunity to fully experience the wonder of these artistic pieces. Numerous other events are also hosted, such as The Artists Speak lecture series, various poetry readings and theatrical performances, and a variety of hands-on workshops for both children and adults.

Colonial Park

Established in 1965, Colonial Park is a beautiful park located in Franklin Township, with a scenic view of the Delaware, Millstone River, and Raritan Canal. The park offers a multitude of outdoor activities, such as three ponds for fishing, nature trails, a 1.4 mile parcourse, a softball field and the Spooky Brook Golf Course-an 18 hole championship course. The Morgan Pellowski Playground also offers entertainment for younger park guests, and two picnic areas are available for reservation, each with a capacity of approximately 100 persons. In the winter time, other activities such as Ice-skating and Cross-country skiing are available as well, making the park an all around enjoyable experience.
